When Boredom Strikes.
Posted by Timmy in Uncategorized on January 30, 2009
“Tim?”
“Yes, brain?”
“Why are we at Target right now?”
“I dunno, cuz I’m bored. Why, is something wrong?”
“You know what’s wrong. We agreed never to go to Target when you get bored. Bad things happen!”
Best. Restaurant. Ever.

I Dropped My Camera.
Posted by Timmy in Gear, Photography, Photoshoots on January 26, 2009
Really, the title says it all. Yesterday I dropped the D200, with the 105mm lens on it. I almost went into shock. Somehow, the part of the camera strap attached to the camera went undone, and it just slipped off my neck. A few hours later, I accidentally dropped my 50mm lens too. Hard. I’ve never been so clumsy with my equipment before. It was embarrassing as well as frustrating. To think I just wrote an article earlier about how expensive all this stuff was, only to find myself dropping everything like toys. Crap. Thankfully, everything looks to be okay, so I won’t be sending anything to the repair shop anytime soon. Read the rest of this entry »
Dare I say it….

But I’m beginning to believe that Twitter is probably one of the most useful and efficient social networking sites now.
Sure, I’ve got a Myspace, and I think I signed up for Facebook somewhere (don’t really use it…), but Twitter keeps me more updated about my friends than either of those sites have in their whole existence.
I also feel slightly more comforted by the fact that the lives of many of my friends, and even those of celebrities, are actually as mundane as mine at times. And I get to know everything my friends are doing in 140 characters or less
.
So there, my shameless plug for Twitter. And now back to our regularly scheduled program.
Fragile Glass
Over the weekend, my cousin Jason was blessed to become an ordained minister on Sunday. I’m proud of him, and I’m thankful to have this guy as one of my best friends. After his ordination, he shared with the the congregation his story, and how he made the transformation from rebellious teenager to a disciple of Jesus Christ. In fact, his story paralleled that of the apostle Paul, who he also spoke about in his message. I was there for everything he went through a few years back, so I can attest to the fact that it has been quite a transformation. As he related his story (one I already knew all too well), I couldn’t help but comparing Jason to a fine crystal glass. Read the rest of this entry »
Is It Worth It?
Posted by Timmy in Events, Gear, Photography, Photoshoots, Work on January 15, 2009
As I prepare to make my tax statements for the year 2008, I’m sifting through all of my receipts purchasing photographic equipment, aka, work related expenses. And frankly, I’m appalled at myself. I won’t divulge the exact amount on here, but you can easily assume its in the thousands. And just today, I spent over a hundred dollars online purchasing extra camera batteries, memory cards, and lens caps. Now, while the jobs I got last year help to alleviate the spending, the truth is, I’m not even finished building my collection. So the titular question begs to be answered: is it worth it? How To Dance Like No One Is Watching, Kinda
As I was driving home from work today, I was passed up by a blonde white girl, probably in her mid 20’s. I was driving a little below the speed limit (45), so she was probably going, oh, 55 or so. I didn’t really care that she did, just a little surprised that she did it in the area we were passing through, which happens to be notorious for speed traps. Read the rest of this entry »
File Under: Irony

These days, since I don’t watch television as much as I used to (it’s now mostly boiled down to Heroes and sports games), I read up on the majority of current events through the internet, especially CNN.com. While reading articles journaling the political climate, economic situations, and world crises, I came upon this article…. Read the rest of this entry »
Food Poisoning: Not So Fun
As much as I’d love to say these last few days have been awesome, they haven’t. I’m sure this post’s title is fairly self- explanatory. In short, I’ve been throwing up my guts and dying of dehydration thanks to something I ate. I’m still unsure of what it was that I ate, but when I find out, I’m going to try and avoid it as much as possible in the future. Read the rest of this entry »
