Really, the title says it all. Yesterday I dropped the D200, with the 105mm lens on it. I almost went into shock. Somehow, the part of the camera strap attached to the camera went undone, and it just slipped off my neck. A few hours later, I accidentally dropped my 50mm lens too. Hard. I’ve never been so clumsy with my equipment before. It was embarrassing as well as frustrating. To think I just wrote an article earlier about how expensive all this stuff was, only to find myself dropping everything like toys. Crap. Thankfully, everything looks to be okay, so I won’t be sending anything to the repair shop anytime soon.
All of the droppage occurred yesterday, during Annie and Jason’s e-session. I haven’t really taken a good look at all of the photos yet, but here are a few that I like so far (click on a photo to enlarge):
An interesting thing about their shoot yesterday, unknown to them, is that I decided to experiment a little bit with a few different styles in their session. As you can see from the photos above, each one is different in style and theme. These 6 up here are the main themes, and from what they decide they like, I’ll continue to work on their photos in that certain direction. For instance, the last photo is vibrant with strong colors, while the fourth one in the series mutes the colors a bit, and softens up the photo to look a little more pleasing to the eyes, as well as give it a more romantic feel. Each person has a different taste, so I thought it might be better to what they want instead of what I think is good. I’ll always have my own personal style, but as a rule of thumb, the best way to get paid is to give the customer what they want. It’s definitely limiting artistically, but hey, it gets the bills paid.
On a side note, I just wanna say I love these guys. I can’t wait for them to get married. I already know it’ll be a wonderful day. The best part? God is at the forefront of their relationship, and I think that’s super awesome. Now if only I can find my significant other….
. We’ll see about that.
Feel free to leave any comments on the photos. In fact, I encourage it. I always love to hear what people think, because my vision is only so limited. I wish I got more reviews on what I shoot, cuz at this stage in what I’m doing, I need the criticism. It’ll shape me as I continue to grow.

Hey Tim…
These photos are amazing! I like all of them (except the one where I’m smiling so big my double chin is exposed!) ahahhahaha… after we choose the style we like, can we still get a copy of these photos? I love em!
