This is Pastor Paul Lacanilao, senior pastor of Cornerstone International Christian Church. Which is, of course, the church I attend. I was showcasing some photography gear that my friend JR was interested in checking out, when Pastor Paul comes by to see what we’re doing. So we tell him to model for us. Then this happened.
I like to think the light from the flash brought him back to his days in the war, and immediately went into attack position to pull my heart out. Of course, that’s just my imagination running wild
So I had an interesting conversation with an older friend of mine. Jason and Annie’s wedding shower was this afternoon, and while we were sitting around chatting and eating, one of the older adults comes up to me and asks “so, are you next?”. Of course he was alluding to me being next in line to get married.
It’s a subject I love yet hesitate to talk about. I can’t wait to fall in love with the person I’m bound to marry. And yet, I’m patient enough to wait on God’s will for me. It just seems like I’m running against some kind of deadline with the expectations of other people. It gets a little frustrating.
In other news, I’ve been asked to cover the events at the Newport Beach Film Festival during the last week of April. Should be some fun stuff. I actually really enjoy doing event coverage. That is, red carpet, green room type of stuff. Award ceremonies, celebrities, and the afterparties
Plans for my roadtrip in July are coming together as well. I’ve kept in touch with a lot of friends who will be along my route, and many of them have been charitable enough to offer a place to stay, and even join me in my adventures in their respective communities. Fun times. Yippy.
That’s all for now. Everyone have a great upcoming week!
