I was recommended to Jennifer and Garfield by someone who had previously taken prom shots with me last year. They ended up being a pretty fun couple, they were both extremely outgoing and comfortable, which can be hard for anyone when you’re working with someone you’ve never previously met before. And being in a relationship together, you can tell from the photo above that they have great chemistry together.
One of my favorite songs of all time is The Beatles’ “Hey Jude”. I don’t know exactly what it is, but there’s just something so uplifting about the song. I don’t know if its Paul McCartney’s singing, the message in the lyrics, the crowd chanting “Na Na Na” in unison, I don’t know. Maybe its a combination of all of it. But when I hear it, or most other people for that matter, its just one of those songs you have to sing along to. It’s almost like a rallying cry, a fight song if you will. But people love to sing along to this song. It’s like its audio is laced with some type of upper.
So when I saw this video on Youtube, I could only wish I was there:
Granted, in the end, its really just a big T-Mobile ad, but I would’ve loved to be a part of it. I think it’s also worth mentioning that the ad agency which is setting up all these crazy stunts is probably making a huge amount of money right now. T-Mobile is definitely taking their slogan “Life’s For Sharing” to a whole new level, setting up flash mobs with the sole purpose of having everything caught in the moment, with most people only having their (wait for it…) cell phones to use as recording devices. Genius.
It’s interesting to note that although the song was originally written by Paul to comfort John Lennon’s son, Julian, as his parents were going through a divorce, the song’s lyrics have a certain way of attaching themselves to many other situations in life. That’s probably a good reason why a lot of people can connect with the song, as it can relate to a lot of things that people go through. This song is a wonderful crowd pleaser, without a doubt.
Of course I wish I was there for the original crowd:
Note the guy around 5:29. Now you know he’s happy for sure.
Next time you’re with a group of friends, coworkers, family, or whatever, try singing a few lines of this song. I’m pretty sure the mood will instantly become a little lighter
