A Revamp Here, A Revamp There

You might’ve noticed that I’ve updated the look of the blog recently. I guess I was getting tired of the old layout, and I needed something that meshed a little bit better with my photography website. So now I’m doing the all white thing. Slightly boring? Yes, but slightly more “professional” too. Blech, I don’t like that word. Sounds too stuffy. Anyways, I’ve been fairly busy taking pictures and not doing enough writing about them, so I’ll just make this more of a straight photoblog for the day. Photos are after the break.

This is Cheryl. She wants to be an actress. Specifically, an asian vampire for the upcoming “Twilight” sequels. I don’t know anything about Twilight, so it makes just as much sense as it doesn’t. But we had fun shooting out in Downtown Fullerton, except for the part where we got back to my car only to find the bumper on the ground. I don’t know why my cars always get in accidents. Even when I wasn’t there =/.

This is Sharreace, who I had the pleasure of meeting at the Newport Beach Film Festival a month ago. She’s a dancer, and she just graduated from Cal State Fullerton (Go Titans!). In fact, these portraits were taken about two hours before her ceremony, so we were in a bit of a rush. I would’ve liked to slow down a  bit and taken time to really get some good shots out, but it was run and gun for the moment. Hopefully we’ll be able to schedule ther rest of our shoot soon and get some really great headshots for her.

This is….. one of my dogs. Say hello to Skip. He’s already pretty acquainted with the camera it seems. I’ve got two other dogs, but one, Jordan, is too hyper and would probably jump on the camera and slobber all over it. Duke, on the other hand, is a scaredy cat and won’t even go near people unless they’ve got food. So even the sound of a camera shutter makes him bolt. Skip’s getting kinda old, so he’s nice and lazy. And he’s still curious enough to find out what that large black box you’re holding in front of his face is. He was rewarded with a nice tummy rubdown :)

Quite the crowd came out for her.

Now here’s my good friend and wonderfully talented musical artist, Kina Grannis. She played a free show for her fans at the 3rd Street Promenade over the weekend, and I was amazed by all the people who came to show. While other artists probably had 5 or 6 people watching them at most, Kina managed to gather a crowd of dozens, probably over 100 at certain points. Kinda made me feel bad for the other guys. I made sure to come out for this show, because I most likely won’t be seeing her perform live again for quite a while :( .
Hung out with her and her family, as always. The Grannis family is just so inviting, its awesome. Before I left, I made sure to get a few shots for her with her newly formed Street Team:

She asked me for the photos yesterday, so I’m sure she’s got them on her website somewhere. Copyright? Ha, probably not.
I’ll update more tomorrow. I gotta get back to writing in this thing regularly.
