A Plea For My Shoulders

Dinah and Samih were my first prom couple this year. We had a bit of extra time, so we decided to do some editorial style shots. Came out pretty well if you ask me. The Rain Has Got It In For Me

Sorry I haven’t posted in a few days, for some reason my blog wasn’t working on my end. Apparently people could still view it, but I couldn’t even access it myself. Well, all is well and good now, and I even managed to work out a couple kinks I found on my site. Hopefully things will be smooth from now on. I Dropped My Camera.

Really, the title says it all. Yesterday I dropped the D200, with the 105mm lens on it. I almost went into shock. Somehow, the part of the camera strap attached to the camera went undone, and it just slipped off my neck. A few hours later, I accidentally dropped my 50mm lens too. Hard. I’ve never been so clumsy with my equipment before. It was embarrassing as well as frustrating. To think I just wrote an article earlier about how expensive all this stuff was, only to find myself dropping everything like toys. Crap. Thankfully, everything looks to be okay, so I won’t be sending anything to the repair shop anytime soon. Read the rest of this entry »
Is It Worth It?

As I prepare to make my tax statements for the year 2008, I’m sifting through all of my receipts purchasing photographic equipment, aka, work related expenses. And frankly, I’m appalled at myself. I won’t divulge the exact amount on here, but you can easily assume its in the thousands. And just today, I spent over a hundred dollars online purchasing extra camera batteries, memory cards, and lens caps. Now, while the jobs I got last year help to alleviate the spending, the truth is, I’m not even finished building my collection. So the titular question begs to be answered: is it worth it?
