Swine Flu Is Overrated.

Aside from being somewhat bigger, he look just like Cuba Jr.

Aside from being somewhat bigger, he look just like Cuba Jr.

So I fail at updating this blog. Well, I do and I don’t. For one, I’ve been really busy with work these last couple of weeks, and haven’t had time to update. Or, if I do have time, I’m usually too tired to try and write. Blech. Then there’s Twitter. It’s not that I’m addicted to it, but I find that Twitter’s utility as a micro-blog of sorts is just so….. convenient. I’m quite interested as to what new direction the Internet takes, as it’s been such a fluid medium since its inception. It changes so quickly and rapidly at times that even being mere seconds behind the rest of the world is already too slow. Crazy stuff, that internet. Read the rest of this entry »

Belated Happy Easter!!!

If I could rob a store, Samy's would be the one, haha.

If I could rob a store, Samy's would be the one, haha.

So happy late Easter to everyone! This day is extremely important to me as a Christian, because if Jesus had never risen from the tomb on the third day, then all of Christianity would mean nothing. As important as Jesus’ birth was, it was his finishing work that broke our bondage to sin, and became the bridge that allowed us to have a personal relationship with God. An amazing day in history indeed. Read the rest of this entry »

Discomfort

This could almost be a Men's Wearhouse ad.

This could almost be a Men's Wearhouse ad.

So another wedding has come and gone, and this one was a special one for me. It starred and brought two of my best friends, Annie and Jason, in holy matrimony. Awesome stuff. It’s a bit weird to think that they’re married now, but that just because I’ve known them for so long already. Read the rest of this entry »

The Power Of Christ Compels You!

The Power Of Christ Compels You!

This is Pastor Paul Lacanilao, senior pastor of Cornerstone International Christian Church. Which is, of course, the church I attend. I was showcasing some photography gear that my friend JR was interested in checking out, when Pastor Paul comes by to see what we’re doing. So we tell him to model for us. Then this happened.

I like to think the light from the flash brought him back to his days in the war, and immediately went into attack position to pull my heart out. Of course, that’s just my imagination running wild :) Read the rest of this entry »

It’s Finally Ready!

Whew! After a couple months of planning, and a lot of work planning and designing, www.timmonzon.com has finally launched! It’s kept me pretty busy over the weekend, so I don’t have any new photos to show you.

Actually, those couple of months reading and learning and designing actually ended up being a bit wasted, when I found a plugin called LRB Portfolio for Adobe Lightroom that I purchased for about 15 bucks that generate awesome websites with not too much work. So ha. But hopefully I’ll be able to put what little website designing skills I have to use some other time. So if you’ve got time, go ahead and check it out! Big shoutout to Sean McCormack for creating such an awesome plugin.

In other news, a friend of mine informed me of a website that used a photo of mine, and I love it! It’s a fairly popular blog called Don’t Be Sad, and they featured one of my photos in a section called Random Acts of Kindness. You can check out the photo right here.

Anyways, even though they didn’t contact me about using the photo, its okay, because I had applied a Creative Commons license to it. That basically means, go ahead and use whatever it is I created, as long as you give me credit. It’s pretty awesome. Good thing I went to that Hillsong United concert a while back :) .

I Totally Had A Great Idea For A Blog Post….

and I had it all written down in my head, about what I was going to write about today. But I think I can save that for another day.

Instead I’d rather share with you a video I came across while reading one of my favorite photography blogs, scottkelby.com. Scott Kelby is a fairly famous photographer, and even more famous for being a Photoshop genius. Anyways, every Wednesday he has a guest blogger write on his site, and today he chose Zack Arias, yet another famous photographer (and also another favorite photographer blogger of mine). He’s famous in the industry for creating the One Light Workshop and DVD (which I have and is amazing to watch and learn about lighting for photography). Anyway’s he eschewed writing a column and instead produced a short film.

And the film just had me amazed.

You don’t even have to be a photographer to understand where this guy’s coming from. Anyone from any walk of life. It definitely inspired me, especially I’ve felt just the way he has in the beginning of the video.

Okay, enough talking, just watch it.

The Rain Has Got It In For Me

Sorry I haven’t posted in a few days, for some reason my blog wasn’t working on my end. Apparently people could still view it, but I couldn’t even access it myself. Well, all is well and good now, and I even managed to work out a couple kinks I found on my site. Hopefully things will be smooth from now on. Anyways, I suppose I’ll go over whats been going on on my end lately, after the break. Read the rest of this entry »

I Dropped My Camera.

Really, the title says it all. Yesterday I dropped the D200, with the 105mm lens on it. I almost went into shock. Somehow, the part of the camera strap attached to the camera went undone, and it just slipped off my neck. A few hours later, I accidentally dropped my 50mm lens too. Hard. I’ve never been so clumsy with my equipment before. It was embarrassing as well as frustrating. To think I just wrote an article earlier about how expensive all this stuff was, only to find myself dropping everything like toys. Crap. Thankfully, everything looks to be okay, so I won’t be sending anything to the repair shop anytime soon. Read the rest of this entry »
